How to raise a hyperactive dog - get started!

Today is our first day of fighting the “naughty” dos. For 7 days, we will work hard to achieve satisfactory results. Let s see what happens and if you can deal with a slightly unseeded, hyperactive German Shepherd in a few days.

In fact, the Legion is a super cowhide, but we have our problems. This is not something incredibly strange – aggression, rage or the like. Such simple, common annoyances that, however, can be tiresome.

What day was like today?

Morning:

By the time the Legion began to bark, we were ready. The dog was stopped on the bed with the command “lie down” and “stay”. From time to time she will receive heals (for a polite lying down) and we quietly prepared for the day. Sometimes she got out of bed because someone just walked into the kitchen, but there was no barking. There was a little purr under the nose, but who knows that these dogs :)

We went out for a short walk, and, by the way, we practiced walking on our feet. After the dog returned, she received a bowl and I took care of my business. At about 9 am we went to the vet for a shot. On the way to we practiced walking by the leg and sit all the time. Everything went well, but there were about two dogs on the route and, unfortunately, it was not possible to overtake the Legion, so there was a little barking.

The vet is very pretty and return :)

South:

Home Legion usually barked from time to time – it was not always possible to calm her down while lying down, so one day she had to land on a criminal hedge occupation (in the bathroom). In general, at the moment we are practicing a long, calm lie and “in place”that is, we are going to sleep. In general, it helps with the barking problem.

One strange problem we have the fact that sometimes during the training update the legion starts to demand loudly. As if I had waited too long and she wanted to remind me. Then we interrupt the exercise “no”, and after a moment I repeat the command to be performed and count the time again. However, the next time is a little shorter than I previously thought.

At 14.m., we went for a run. There were problems before leaving – Legion was thrilled that we dress and bark. Somehow she managed to calm her down. But I think the next time we do that, we ll stop getting ready to go out, sit down and wait until he stops being hyperactive.

Simply running without problems – dog polite, ready to run and generally train, very positive. On the way to our cross-country route, we practiced walking at the foot.

Afternoon and evening:

After the run, the legion got food, but I think she was still hungry. She barked a little and squealed. The veterinarian indicated a weight of 36 kg, that is, in a few months we managed to lose 4 kg. Of these, the last kilogram has flown in the previous 2 weeks. Maybe he is not getting enough food now, so from tomorrow we will increase the dose. We had some problems and general suspicion of food allergy (I will describe this in my spare time), so the legion now eats boiled beef and carrots.

Cases of barking I steal the command “on the spot” and hold until the dog calms down. She gets a taste, is praised (with a calm voice so as not to stimulate further) and stroked. After several such “sessions” the dog calms down and you see that he :)

When it comes to exercising on location, we have good progress in one day. We are at that moment when the dog is lying on the bed, and I can go, open the door, go out into the cage and close the door. I stand in the cage for a few seconds and come back and the dog still lies! This is magic?!

In the next few days I will add a beep and go out to the frame after that sound. Sometimes, however, I just let go of the sound and do nothing. Just so that the dog do not tie sound to my products.

As for the phone, Michael from Doberman wrote, which is the simplest but for me this is the most difficult thing. I don t know at what point to reward him and how – any ideas? Am I just doing a “fake” conversation and during it give commands to the dog? The dog does not respond badly to the sound of the phone itself or something like that – just as I talk longer it starts barking and disturbing.

So I don t care any addiction to her telephone, and just so that I can safely install something with the client :)

How to Raise a Hyperactive Dog?

Summing up today – on outdoors we have our biggest problem with dogs. He s still not perfect. Sometimes it is possible to distract the Legion of Fry or Frisbees, but not always. Sometimes he looks at another dog and, as if he is turned off – he barks, pulls and can not talk to anything about it.

ohm, however, the biggest problem is such geneavor and demanding different things. The Legion comes and starts barking as if it wants something from us. Sometimes it’s about food (maybe she’s too hungry) and sometimes she just gets bored. I got the stupid impression that it happened at thata time when we did more at home and outdoors. As if the dog was expecting fry and wanted to do something all the time. Previously, she was not so barking (only through the window when she saw the dog / cat). In that moment we try to slow down barking with the command “on the spot” or lying down for a long time. Sometimes it works better and sometimes worse.

In general, today was the first day, so there were no big successes. Let s see if this silence of the dog in the house will make the overall calmness after 7 days. Time will tell :)
